Information for Forum Authors

Interested in writing for the Forum? Great! Here’s how it works.

We prefer pieces of 500-1000 words in a professional but friendly style. These can be written in prose similar to that of a newspaper opinion piece or non-technical tutorial, in a more literary storytelling style, in an interview format, or in other ways. We will also consider fiction (if identified as such), poetry, and even photography or video. Whatever the style, we are looking for reader-friendly, inviting work that reflects PsiAN’s values and advocacy mission. We prefer original work but will consider re-posting previously published material, given permission by the copyright holder. Forum authors retain copyright to their own material.

Our editor can work with authors collaboratively. We are happy to talk with you about ideas your have, drafts you’ve written — wherever you are in the process. At the same time, we’ll try to preserve each author’s unique voice. After all, unique voices are what makes a forum a forum.

Submissions can be in any of several formats: as text in an email, as an email attachment (Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, or text format — please no pdf), or as a link to a Google Doc or a Dropbox file. We also welcome thoughts, feedback, and “letters to the editor.”

Please address all Forum communication and files to hello@psian.org.

Thanks, and see you on the Forum!
